Cricket rules
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players each on a field at the centre of which is a 22-yard (20-metre) pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at them with the bat (and running between the wickets), while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, and/or by forcing the batsman to hit his shot away from the fielders and running between the wickets) .

The most popular types of cricket bets
There are a number of ways in which you can bet on cricket. When betting on cricket, you are able to wager on Match Winner, Innings Runs, First Ball/First Over, Player and Team Totals, Live Cricket Bets, Coin Toss, Top Batsman/Top Bowler, and Most Sixes just to name a handful. These are the most popular cricket bets to make.
Match Winner
The most common form of cricket wager is the match betting bet. This is a straightforward bet as you only have to pick from three different outcomes. You’ll either select if you think that the home team will win, the away team will win, or if the match will end in a draw.
Innings Runs
This cricket wager is more commonly known as the first innings runs. You’re simply betting on how many runs will be scored in the first innings of the cricket match. The favourite here is generally the team that bats first as they have an advantage, but anything can happen in cricket so this shouldn’t always be
First Ball / First Over
The first ball is the name of the first delivery of any innings in a cricket match from the bowler to the batsman. The first over is the name given to the first six balls bowled by a bowler in an innings. The odds for this cricket wager can change rapidly, so it’s important that you keep up to date with the game
Player and Team Totals
This cricket bet is quite similar to the innings runs cricket bet, but as the name suggests you’re betting on individual player totals or team totals. Once again, the favourite here is generally the team that bats first as they have an advantage, but cricket is a funny game so anything can happen.
Coin Toss
The cricket toss is a time-honoured tradition of this game marked by a coin flip in the air. The cricket captain who wins the toss gets to decide what his team will do. The cricket coin toss generally happens before the start of play, but can also happen at the start of each innings. The most common cricket coin toss es are heads or tails, but you can also bet on whether the cricket captain will choose to bat or bowl.
Top Batsman/Top Bowler
This cricket wager is pretty self-explanatory. You’re simply betting on who you think will be the top batsman or top bowler for their team in the cricket match. This cricket bet is generally available for most cricket matches.
Most Sixes
This cricket wager is quite similar to the top batsman/top bowler cricket bet, but as the name suggests you’re betting on who will hit the most sixes in the cricket match. This cricket bet is generally available for most cricket matches.
What is a cricket live betting?
Live cricket bets are becoming increasingly popular as cricket fans want to be able to bet on the cricket matches as they are taking place. This is cricket betting in real-time and can be quite exciting. You can bet on things such as the next batsman to be dismissed, the next bowler to take a wicket, and much more.
As you can see, there are a number of different ways in which you can bet on cricket. These are just some of the most popular cricket bets that people make. So, if you’re looking to get involved in cricket betting, then be sure to check out the different cricket wagers that you can make.
